Melania Trump recently spoke to nearly 300 parents and former teachers at the National PTA Legislative Conference this week. However, the FLOTUS refused to address the coronavirus pandemic and instead focused entirely on her Be Best initiative.
According to Political Flare, the deadly virus was actually part of the agenda so the attendees that the first lady would address it during her speech. But to everyone’s surprise, Melania didn’t say anything about the outbreak.
Her entire 10-minute speech was spent on talking about the success of her Be Best initiative. Journalist Andrea Jefferson said that this is because the first lady is so full of herself, and she doesn’t want the attention of the guests to be taken away from her.
“When I launched the Be Best Initiative, my first goal was to raise awareness of three primary issues that children face today – social-emotional health, opioid abuse, and online safety. My second goal was to shed light on programs and people across the country and around the globe that successfully combat these problems,” the FLOTUS said.
Three years later, Melania said that she’s proud of the fact that they have made great strides in fulfilling their mission. She also gushed over herself by saying that she has visited schools, hospitals, communities, non-profit organizations, private companies, government agencies that support children and their communities.
As always, the FLOTUS also talked about the dangers of cyberbullying and said that people should use social media as a tool to do good. More specifically, the first lady said that Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram can help users share important updates about their lives.
“But in many cases, social media platforms can have a negative and even deadly impact on our youth. It is sad to say that more than one in three teenagers has suffered from cyberbullying,” Melania said.
Unfortunately, her comments on cyberbullying did not sit well with her critics since it is common knowledge that her husband, Donald Trump, is the biggest bully online.
